Barrett QDL Suppressor Details
The Barrett QDL is the factory answer to suppressing a .50 BMG, purpose-built for the M107A1, Model 99, and Model 95. It attaches over Barrett's proprietary two-port muzzle brake with a quick-detach lock ring that clicks into ratchet grooves, so it indexes the same way every time and comes off in seconds. The payoff for shooter and spotter is a substantially reduced report and far less blast overpressure coming back off the muzzle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Barrett .50 cal be suppressed?
Yes. Barrett's QDL is a purpose-built .50 BMG suppressor engineered specifically for Barrett's own big-bore rifle platforms. It uses a dual-layered 4130 steel tube with a fully welded baffle stack to handle .50 BMG pressures, and it mounts via a quick-detach muzzle brake designed for fast, repeatable installation in the field.
Which Barrett rifles fit the QDL?
The QDL is engineered specifically for the Barrett M107A1, Model 99, and Model 95. It attaches through a proprietary recoil-reducing muzzle brake unique to those platforms, so fit isn't universal across every Barrett .50 BMG rifle — confirm your exact model and muzzle device before ordering.
How much does the QDL reduce blast overpressure for the shooter and spotter?
Barrett designed the QDL to noticeably soften the blast wave a .50 BMG rifle sends back toward the firing position, making it more comfortable for both the shooter and anyone spotting nearby. The dual-layered tube and integrated recoil-reducing brake work together to redirect and dissipate muzzle blast rather than let it radiate outward unchecked. Barrett does not publish independent overpressure test data for the QDL, so exact figures aren't available — the improvement is best understood as a qualitative comfort and safety gain for sustained large-bore fire, not a certified measurement.
Can the muzzle brake be removed?
Yes. The QDL's two-port muzzle brake — a first for a suppressor in this class — is designed to detach easily from the suppressor body. Removing it shifts the setup's priority toward muzzle flash reduction, giving shooters a way to reconfigure the system for different mission needs without swapping suppressors.
