Dead Air Nomad-30 Details
The Dead Air Nomad-30 is a full-auto rated .30 caliber suppressor built from 17-4 PH stainless steel with Grade 5 titanium thread mounts and front cap insert. It weighs 14.5 oz and measures 6.5 inches in length with a 1.735-inch outer diameter. The Nomad-30 ships with a 5/8x24 direct thread mount, is compatible with Dead Air Key-Mo and Xeno mounting systems, and accepts all Sandman series front cap inserts and the Dead Air E-brake. It is rated for calibers up to .300 Winchester Magnum, with sub-calibers including 5.56 acceptable, and has a Cerakote finish.
Features and Benefits
- 17-4 PH stainless steel welded construction with Grade 5 titanium thread mounts and front cap insert — the titanium components keep the removable parts light while the stainless steel body handles the heat of sustained fire
- High-efficiency baffle design specifically engineered for minimal first-round pop alongside reduced back-pressure — the large-diameter body and milled surface features contribute to faster heat dissipation and improved grip during installation and removal
- Laser-welded construction throughout: full-penetration welds with thick, robust joint fit-ups and no thin-walled welded sections
- Modular rear system: the back cap accepts direct thread mounts (5/8x24 included) or KeyMo fast-attach mounts for quick suppressor swaps between host rifles already equipped with Key-Mo compatible brakes or flash hiders
- Xeno mounting system compatible as well, giving shooters access to Dead Air's newest quick-detach architecture on existing Xeno-equipped hosts
- Front cap accepts all Dead Air Sandman series cap inserts and the E-brake — if you already own a Sandman, you can share front caps between platforms
- Full-auto rated for demanding firing schedules
- Caliber rated to .300 Winchester Magnum; sub-calibers including 5.56 NATO are acceptable
- Cerakote finish for long-term durability
- Dead Air Lifetime Warranty
Mounting System
The Nomad-30 ships with a 5/8x24 direct thread mount installed. Additional mount configurations:
For Key-Mo: the Key-Mo adapter threads into the back cap and locks onto any Dead Air Key-Mo compatible flash hider or muzzle brake. Key-Mo removal involves rotating the suppressor body approximately 3/4 turn counter-clockwise until it stops, then slipping it off the brake or flash hider.
For Xeno: Dead Air's Xeno system provides an additional fast-attach option using a separate Xeno adapter. Compatible with Xeno muzzle brake mounts.
The Nomad features modular HUB mounting threads that accept any HUB/Bravo/OMega/1.375x24 threaded adaptors or QD systems.
Dead Air recommends coating mount threads with high-quality grease before installation. If loosening occurs under heavy heat cycles, degrease the threads and use a medium-strength, high-temperature threadlocker — Dead Air specifically recommends Vibra-Tite 123. Barrel torque target is 20-25 ft-lbs; do not exceed 30 ft-lbs.
Front Cap Compatibility
The Nomad-30 front cap accepts all Dead Air R-series endcap inserts (5.56 cap, 6.5 cap, 7.62 Ti cap, 5.56 flash hider cap, 7.62 flash hider cap) and the Dead Air E-brake. This means shooters with an existing Sandman can run the same front caps on the Nomad-30, and the E-brake configuration delivers reduced recoil across all tested calibers. The 7.62 Ti cap is included with the Nomad-30.

FAQ
What calibers is the Dead Air Nomad-30 rated for?
The Dead Air Nomad-30 is rated for calibers up to .300 Winchester Magnum, with an energy rating of 4,400 ft-lbs. Sub-calibers including 5.56 NATO are acceptable. The Nomad-30 is not rated for cartridges with chamber pressures exceeding .300 Win Mag.
What mounting systems are compatible with the Dead Air Nomad-30?
The Nomad-30 ships with a 5/8x24 direct thread mount and is compatible with Dead Air's Key-Mo fast-attach system and the newer Xeno mounting system. Key-Mo provides quick-attach/detach capability on hosts equipped with Key-Mo compatible brakes or flash hiders. Xeno compatibility requires a separate Xeno adapter. Dead Air recommends coating mount threads with high-quality grease, and Vibra-Tite 123 threadlocker for suppressor applications with heavy heat cycles.
What are the specs of the Dead Air Nomad-30?
The Dead Air Nomad-30 weighs 14.5 oz, measures 6.5 inches in length, and has an outer diameter of 1.735 inches. It is built from 17-4 PH stainless steel and is rated for calibers up to .300 Win Mag, and is full-auto rated.
How quiet is the Dead Air Nomad-30?
Dead Air tests to MIL-STD-1474D using calibrated laboratory equipment and publishes conservative muzzle dB averages. The Nomad is a high-performing 30 caliber suppressor and provides excellent sound suppression and hearing protection for rounds such as 5.56, .308, and 300BLK.
What front caps are compatible with the Dead Air Nomad-30?
The Nomad-30's front cap accepts all Dead Air Sandman series cap inserts — including 5.56, 6.5, 7.62 Ti, 5.56 flash hider cap, and 7.62 flash hider cap — and the Dead Air E-brake. The 7.62 Ti cap is included with the suppressor. Adding the E-brake provides measurably lower dB readings across tested calibers. This cross-compatibility means shooters who already own a Sandman can share front caps between platforms.
Is the Dead Air Nomad-30 full-auto rated?
Yes. The Dead Air Nomad-30 is full-auto rated.
What is the Dead Air Nomad-30 made of?
The Nomad-30 is constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel with Grade 5 titanium thread mounts and a front cap insert. The suppressor uses laser-welded construction with full-penetration welds and thick, robust joint fit-ups throughout. The exterior finish is Cerakote for long-term durability.
How does the Dead Air Nomad-30 compare to the Dead Air Sandman X?
Both are Dead Air .30 caliber suppressors, but they serve different use cases. The Nomad-30 is the lighter, more modular option at 14.5 oz — it's built for shooters who want to move between rifles and host platforms using Key-Mo or Xeno mounts and benefit from Sandman front cap compatibility. The Sandman X is Dead Air's full-size duty suppressor, designed for hard use and capable of higher energy calibers. Choosing between them comes down to whether you prioritize weight and modularity or maximum durability under sustained heavy fire.
What is the warranty on the Dead Air Nomad-30?
Dead Air provides a Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects and damage from normal use. Dead Air will repair or replace at no charge. The warranty does not cover modifications, abuse, neglect, defective or improperly sized ammunition, or criminal conduct. If a suppressor is not eligible for repair or replacement, Dead Air offers a 50% replacement purchase on a same or similar model. Contact Dead Air Customer Service at 801-857-4232 for warranty claims.
What is the difference between the Dead Air Nomad-30 and the Dead Air Nomad Ti XC?
The Nomad Ti XC is Dead Air's titanium-construction Nomad variant, which reduces overall weight compared to the stainless steel Nomad-30. The Nomad-30 is the stainless steel version — more affordable, equally modular, and rated for the same caliber range. Shooters who prioritize weight savings for hunting or long-carry applications may prefer the Nomad Ti XC; shooters who want the Nomad platform at a lower entry point should look at the Nomad-30.
