Liberty Regulator

At first glance, the Regulator from Liberty Suppressors might look like any other monocore (i.e., baffles are part of single-metal component) rimfire silencer. However, we beg the question: Didn’t anyone ever tell you not to judge a can by its cover?

In reality, the Regulator is the culmination of years’ worth of Liberty research/development, and is specifically manufactured to counter the issues that plague other monocore designs—all while keeping the simplicity of the single-piece core. If you want “easy to take apart and clean,” it is difficult to beat a silencer with only three total pieces!

Centered in Georgia, Liberty Suppressors uses advanced technology to manufacture their cans. Some of the Regulator’s beneficial features include:

  1. The stainless steel core is engineered to mitigate first round pop (check out our blog article for more information) as much as possible. In other words, the first round out of your .22 or .17 to eliminate that pesky varmint won’t scare away the 10-point buck you’ve been waiting for all morning. (Cha-ching!)
  2. The blast chamber, threads, baffles, and endcap are all one piece of stainless steel, which vastly improves the alignment and balance of the system. This helps eradicate the potential of baffle strikes, keeping your shots accurate.
  3. The rear “retaining cap” is threaded left-hand to prevent it from backing off when removing the suppressor from the firearm. If you’ve never messed with a monocore silencer with right-hand threads, that might sound silly. If you have, then you know what a nuisance it can be.
  4. Cutting-edge Wavelock Tube Technology locks the core to the tube and stops the outer tube from spinning without the need to have the rear cap cinched down.
  5. Disassembly and routine maintenance couldn’t be easier due to the Regulator’s monocore setup. (Remember, only three total pieces!)

Very quiet, no noticeable first round pop. I use a spray of RemOil down both ends and it makes it even quieter, low temp line pulling jell lasts longer but you do need to careful not to put so much jell in that it occludes the center bore - plain common sense.
I will shoot mine hundreds, maybe 450-500 of times between cleanings and have no problems getting the unit apart. I think the trick is during reassembly I use something like Seal 1 or Frog Lube on the outside of the monocore before I slide it into the very clean and likewise lubricated tube. I only need to unscrew the back nut, gently push or tap the threaded end of the monocore on a wooden bench, use gloves and twist and pull the two halves apart.
I love it best on my Walther PPQ M2 "full size" .22 pistol... I think the extra length of the Walther barrel makes the whole setup inherently quieter than on the many shorter pistols out there.

Not easy to take apart after 50-100 rounds.

    They should include disassembly tool.

    I'm really disappointed.

This was my first suppressor, and I was instantly addicted. My SR22 cycles well and is very quiet with the liberty regulator. Looks fantastic on my 10/22 ultimate, and sounds even better. Highly recommended.

Beautifull machined, sturdy, easy to disassemble, and best of all whisper quiet. Works amazingly on my pistols and rifles. No buyers remorse here. Great can.

As advertised. Only gripe (and it's minor) is that residue builds up in a hurry and makes pulling it apart a chore. This is my first suppressor, so maybe that's typical. Either way, it's not the end of the world.

It is a precisely machined piece. The fit and finish is top-notch.

The design has some real key-features (such as the wave lock to lock the core to the tube, left hand rear cap, etc.

What it lacks is a clamshell design. Run too many rounds through it and you may not get it apart. I am always afraid and find myself cleaning it way more frequently than I should have too.

Performance-wise - it is lighter than a Spectre II. The tone is slightly deeper. The sound appears to be slightly more quiet on same-gun same-day tests.

I highly reccomend it but not as one's 1st .22LR suppressor. It makes a fine addition to the stable. But if you think you are going to crank out a 1000 round weekend without cleaning - think again. In my opinion the two best "first" .222 LR cans on the marker are the Spectre II and the Mask HD.

Very quiet and lightweight. doesn't interfere with factory sights. easy to maintain. great balance on both my pistols and rifles. Would buy again and recommend to anyone looking for a great .22 suppressor.
