It's been rumored for a while; but, it looks like the 2012-13 hunting season may finally be the one where suppressors become legal for game animals in Texas!  The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is currently considering allowing suppressors for hunting this year - and it looks likely that the rules are going to be changed. Hunting with suppressors will be a huge win for TX hunters who want to preserve their hearing, but don't want to sit around with muffs or ear plugs all day.  It will also be beneficial to both young hunters as well as people who are new to the sport because of reduced recoil. It looks like AAC hit the mark by renaming their current Cyclone-K suppressor to be the "Hunter". A couple of generations from now, some of those old hunters who started out with suppressors may actually be able to hear people talking to them. :)
